Abstract:
To provide a technique for screening a medicine for specifically reducing Aβ42 production by efficiently identifying a modulator, an inhibitor or the like of γ-secretase.
The method for screening the modulator or the inhibitor of the γ-secretase includes bringing a peptide finished at the positions 37, 38, 40, 25 and 21 of a sequence of amyloid β as a substrate into contact with the γ-secretase in the absence and presence of a candidate substance, and comparing the amounts or the levels of formed cut peptides to carry out the determination.
