To perform satin treatment for attaining the high quality of an aluminum material by using the existing surface treating equipment free from a satin treating tank.
Degreasing treatment and satin treatment are made selectively treatable by using a heating common bath built and provided to a treating tank for degreasing existing for prestage to anodic oxidation treatment, in which halogen elements are added and incorporated to a concentration of 0.5 to 30 wt.% and heated to about 30 to 50°C. The degreasing treatment is made possible by immersing treatment or by applying reverse potential under the voltage of 1 to 20 V by the d.c. cathode, and the satin treatment is made possible by energizing at the current density of 1 to 10 A/dm2 by the a.c. or d.c. current anode, and, in any case, good results can be obtained.
