PURPOSE: To provide an instrument for inspecting the degree of seal effectively and reliably in a polymerized pile, e.g. a stretch tube, of a recirculation pump.
CONSTITUTION: Means 21 for measuring the elongation of a stretch tube 16 and means 22 for reading indication on a scale optically are inserted detachably into a stub tube 10 and a casing 11 integral therewith. The measuring means 21 comprises a plug 23 fitted in the opening at one end of the stretch tube 16 through a diffuser boss 14, a column 24 extending inward toward the central part, a contactor 25 following up the axial displacement of the stretch tube 16, a pointer 26 for detecting the movement of the contactor 25 while amplifying, and a scale 27 showing deflection of the pointer 26. The optical reading means 22 comprises a supporting mechanism 28 being inserted into the stub tube 10 from the other end thereof, a fiberscope 29 as a photographing means, and a mechanism for displaying an image in an operating room on the outside of unclear reactor based on output signals from the fiberscope 29.
