Title:
DEHYDRATION TREATMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02258005
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remarkably improve dehydration efficiency and energy saving by mixing a dehydration promoter, which has a foaming function, with a slurry, by dehydrating the slurry electro-osmotically and then by carrying out a mechanical dehydration.

CONSTITUTION: A dehydration promoter, which has a foaming function (e.g. Al power), is charged from an input vessel 12 into a slurry in the first treating tank 1 and they are mixed together by a stirrer 14. Then, the slurry is made to flow into the second treating tank, and a pressing plate 23 is allowed to descend by its dead weight. A specified voltage is applied between a couple of electrodes 21a and 21b, which are arranged at a lower face of the pressing plate 23 and below a filter 22 respectively, so as to separate water from the slurry particles owing to an electroosmotic action, and the separated water is discharged through a drain 25. Next, the pressing plate 23 is pushed down by driving an actuator 24 so that the water remaining in the slurry is squeezed and discharged out of the filter 22. It is possible, as a result, to dehydrate a slurry containing much water such as sludge and industrial waste efficiently.
