Abstract:
To provide delayed release compositions of linaclotide.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a stable solid oral dosage form of linaclotide exhibiting delayed release of linaclotide in the lower gastric intestinal tract. In addition, the invention provides a method for treating conditions by administering the delayed release composition. The delayed release composition of the invention can be used for treating various conditions, particularly suitably for treating gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) including IBS with constipation "IBS-c", IBS with diarrhea "IBS-d" or mixed type IBS with constipation and diarrhea "IBS-m", constipation such as chronic idiopathic constipation, colon cancer, diverticulitis, interstitial cystitis, and abdominal or visceral pain.SELECTED DRAWING: None
