Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce highly accurate pulses of the reproduced signals which are deteriorated by high density recording by varying a threshold value in such a way as to follow the amplitude change of the input signal based on the relationship between the input signal and the threshold value.
CONSTITUTION: A pulse output means 100 generates a pulse signal having a pulse for indicating the peak of an input signal such as a reproduced signal, etc. A level slicing means 200 generates a gate pulse when the amplitude level of an input signal has exceeded the threshold value. A gate means 300 generates an output signal pulse of the input signal by gating the pulse signal with a gate pulse. A threshold value varying means 400 varies the threshold value to follow amplitude level change of the input signal on the basis of the relationship between the input signal and the threshold value used in the level slicing means 200. Therefore, the level slicing means 200 can accurately detect the amplitude level having exceeded the threshold value of the input signal and the gate means 300 can open the gate with high accuracy.
