Title:
DEMODULATOR, DEMODULATION METHOD AND PROVISION MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3871171
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce error propagation with simpler constitution for demodulation by detecting a code stream which does not keep a minimum run and correcting errors based on codes before and after the code string, when a bit shift error is generated.
SOLUTION: When signals transmitted from a transmission line or the signals reproduced from this recording medium are Non-Return-to-Zero Inversion(NRZI) modulated (level codes), a comparison part 11 in this demodulator turns binarized data to inverse NRZI codes (edge codes) further. The comparison part 11 also removes a part unrelated to data such as synchronization signals inserted after demodulation to a channel bit stream is performed. A run error correction part 12 detects the error generated near the minimum run and a maximum run from a binarized (edge coded) data stream and performs correction, and a demodulation part 13 demodulates the code stream to the data based on a demodulation table (inverse conversion table).
