To automatically detach a tire from a wheel by providing a circumferential face pressing means pressing the nearly half circumferential face of the tire of a wheel held with a holding means, and a bead detaching means interposed between the bead of tire and the rim of wheel and detaching the bead from the rim.
A vehicle wheel C is lifted with a center cone, and after pinchedly holding a wheel A, an upper/lower bead dropping means is operated so as to pinchedly press the vicinity of beads with rollers 6g, 8g and detach the beads from a rim. Simultaneously an upper face pressing means is operated so as to press the upper face of a tire B, thereafter a circumferential face pressing means is operated so as to press the nearby half circumference of the tire B, and hence a gap is formed between the bead and the rim. Under this condition, a bead detaching means is operated so as to interpose the projection 12f of a detaching claw piece 12d into the gap, and then a lower face pressing means 11B is operated so as to let the upper bead run on the detaching claw piece 12d. Next, the wheel A is rotated so as to detach the bead from the rim extending over the whole circumference.
