PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of the title catalyst by the vapor of the heavy metal compd. in exhaust gas by depositing a specified amt. of ≥1 kind among the oxides of Mo, W, and Sn on a carrier consisting of TiO2 and ≥1 kind among the oxides of V, Fe, Cu, and Mn.
CONSTITUTION: A carrier consisting of TiO2 and ≥1 kinds among the oxides of the elements selected from V, Fe, Cu, and Mn is prepared. One or more kinds among the oxides of Mo, W, and Sn are then adsorbed and deposited on the carrier so that the sum of the mols of the oxides is controlled to 2×10-6W20×10-6mol./m2 per unit specific surface of the catalyst to produce a denitration catalyst utilizing catalytic reduction of ammonia. In this case, ≥1 kind among the oxides of Mo, W, and Sn in the form of vapor is adsorbed and deposited on the carrier, and then the obtained material is sintered at 400W750°C. In addition, metatitanic acid is appropriately used as the raw material for the titanium oxide.
