Abstract:
To provide a deodorization system that thermally decomposes odor components contained in an exhaust gas of a scrap preheating apparatus without deteriorating energy efficiency.SOLUTION: A deodorization system for deodorizing a malodorous gas generated in a raw-material preheater 2 when a raw material is dissolved in an electric furnace 4 after being preheated in the raw-material preheater 2, is provided with a malodorous gas supply pipe 5 for supplying the malodorous gas to the electric furnace 4. The electric furnace 4 melts a preheat raw material with an arc discharge each time the preheat raw material is introduced from the raw-material preheater 2. In the electric furnace 4, thermal decomposition of the malodorous gas proceeds in parallel with the heating and melting of the preheat metals. That is, the malodorous gas supplied from the raw-material preheater 2 to the electric furnace 4 via the malodorous gas supply pipe 5 is thermally decomposed by high temperature atmosphere in the electric furnace 4 to become thermally decomposed gas without odor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
