Title:
DEODORIZER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11197222
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce and remove an offensive smell peculiar to an extract while the deodorizing power is kept and prevent browning by containing a water soluble extract from plants of the family perilla L . as an effective component in the deodorizer.

A lamiaceous plant is subjected to extraction processing by about 1% ascorbic acid aqueous solution having a temperature of 20°C-90°C. In this case, raw lamiaceous plant leaf part is cut to about 5 mm. After extraction is performed for about three hours, the leaves are pressed by a presser to separate an extract. PH of the extract is adjusted to pH about 3 by using about 1N hydrochloric acid. After the extract is cooled to the room temperature, it is fliterated to obtain lamiaceous plant hot water extract. Thus, lamiaceous hot water extract containing about 0.82 g of solid component can be obtained from about 100 g of lamiaceous plant leaf part of the lamiaceous plant family. When the lamiaceous plant hot water extract is diluted to a designated concentration by using ion-exchanged water and its deodorizing power is tested, high deodorizing power is shown against trimethylamine. Thus, a deodorizer composition which will not cause discoloring due to drowning and emission of an offensive smell can be obtained.
