Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a deodorizing device for lavatory at a reduced running cost by utilizing deodorizing micro-organism.

CONSTITUTION: An intake hole 5 of the stool 1 is connected to one end of deodorizing tank 4 and an exhaust hole 6 is-connected to the other end of deodorizing tank 4. A peat layer 3 for fixing deodorizing micro-organism is provided so as to cross the air passage communicated to the intake hole 5 in the deodorizing tank 4 and to be kept wet. An air pump 8 is provided in the air passage communicated to the peat layer 3 and exhaust hole 6 in order to attract the odor gas in the stool 1 via the intake hole 5. An example of the deodorizing micro-organism is picked from pigsty, cowshed, poultry house, or the soil thereby. It is desirable that the micro-organism is heterogeneous rather than homogeneous. Preferably, the deodorizing micro-organism fixed on less than or equal to 11g air-dry weight/100cm3 of peat-moss and more than or equal to 0.1% of pore forming material are provided to form the porous peat layer.
