To provide a deodorizing device which enhances deodorization efficiency by improving the contact efficiency of odorous air having smells and deodorizing catalysts.
This device has a duct 12 which has an air inflow port 14 and discharge port 16 and a deodorizing mechanism 18 which deodorizes the air SA containing the smells distributed into this duct 12. The deodorizing mechanism 18 comprises a deodorizing device 10 having a catalyst section 20 which includes the catalyst to deodorize the air SA by coming into contact with the odorous air SA and a catalyst contact flow generating section 22 which is arranged on the upstream side of the catalyst section 20 and generate such an air current CS as to improve the contact efficiency of the air SA and the catalysts. The odorous air SA passes the catalyst section while the air is efficiently brought into contact with the catalysts and is deodorized in this process.
