PURPOSE: To provide an insoluble compd. useful as a therapeutic drug for various psychoses and especially for depot.

CONSTITUTION: This compd. is a pamoate or hemipamoate salt of trans-5- chloro-2-methyl-2,3,3a,12b-tetrahydro-1H-dibenz (2,3:6,7)oxepino-(4,5-c)pyrrole. The compd. is obtd. by the reaction of tans-5-chloro-2-methyl-2,3,3a,12b- tetrahydro-1H-dibenz[2,3:6,7]oxepino[4,5-c]pyrrole and pamo acid in a polar solvent. The depot is prepared by compounding the pamoate compd. above described with a vegetable oil. The chemical name of pamo acid is 4,4'-methylene bis[3-hydroxy-2-naphthalene carboxylic acid. The obtd. compd. has a suppressing activity for the central nervous system and excellent antihistaminic effect and antiserotonergic effect and is useful for the treatment of tension, excitement, anxiety, psychosis and schizophrenia.
