PURPOSE: To automatically determine the aperture by providing a defocus extent storage means where the extent of defocus is stored, a first light measured value storage means where the light measured value of a first operation is stored, and the second light measured value storage means where the light measured value of the second operation is stored.

CONSTITUTION: A depth mode selecting means 1 selects the depth of field priority photographing (depth) mode, and the depth mode is selected if photographing is performed with a camera simultaneously focused on plural objects at difference distances. A photographer selects the depth mode and selects an object (a) at a short distance as the distance measurement object and turns on a light measuring switch sw1 with the first stroke of a shutter button to perform the operation for the first depth. He temporarily turns off the switch sw1 and selects an object (b) at a long distance as the distance measurement object and turns on the light measuring switch sw1 again to perform the operation for the second depth. An operating means 2 stores the operation for the second depth in a counter means 6 and takes in the light measured value from a light measuring means 7 and stores it in the second light measured value storage means 10. Thus, the aperture is automatically determined.
