Abstract:

To provide a derailment preventing device for an elevator capable of preventing derailment and suppressing generation of vibration and noise and conduction at normal time, achieving excellent efficiency of installation and adjustment work and applicable to a high lift elevator and a high speed elevator using a roller guide etc. as a rail guide device.

The derailment preventing device for the elevator is provided with a pair of guide rails erected inside a hoistway and having rail head parts and rail neck parts thinner than the rail head parts; a lifting/lowering body arranged between the guide rails so as to be liftable/lowerable; guide shoes mounted to upper and lower end parts on both sides of the lifting/lowering body and engaged with the guide rails to guide the lifting/lowering body; and a rail nipping means provided adjacent to the guide shoes, separated from the guide rails at normal time and nipping the rail neck parts of the guide rails when occurrence of earthquake is detected.
