The invention concerns cross-linkable oligomers or polymers exhibiting ferroelectric or anti-ferroelectric liquid-crystalline properties and characterized by a main chain, at least one cross-linkable side chain and at least one side chain with a chiral group. The compounds proposed are particularly suitable for use in flexible electro-optical display elements and in pyroelectric or piezoelectric devices.
