Abstract:
PURPOSE:To thrust a honeycomb into an outer cylinder with high dimensional accuracy and joining strength by providing plural outer cylinder receiving dishes and honeycomb holding mechanisms to the honeycomb thrusting device, supplying the rotated outer cylinder below a thrusting guide, raising the outer cylinder engaged with the guide and detecting the thrust load of the honeycomb by a load detector. CONSTITUTION:An outer cylinder is set on an outer cylinder receiving dish 2a, and a honeycomb slightly larger than the inner diameter of the outer cylinder and provided with a foiled brazing filler metal on its peripheral surface is set on a honeycomb holding claw 3a. A motor 4 is operated to position the honeycomb at the axial centers of the thrusting cylinder 9b and outer cylinder lifting cylinder 6a. Under such conditions, the cylinder 6a is raised, and hence the honeycomb is engaged with the lower part of the dish 2a through a faucet joint and raised along with the outer cylinder 14. The honeycomb is then engaged with the upper part of the outer cylinder 14 and the lower parts of the thrusting guides 18a and 18b through a faucet joint, raised along with a guide frame 7 and positioned at the upper part of a taper by the claw 3a. The honeycomb is then thrust in by a thrusting cylinder 9a while controlling the thrust load with a load detector 12.
