USE: A medicinal and diagnostic agent. Used as a contrast medium for a for X-ray diagnosis, radioactive nuclide diagnosis, ultrasonic diagnosis and/or magnetic resonance diagnosis.
PROCESS: The compd. of the formula I is obtd. by bringing the compd. of formula R-O-(CH2-CH2-O)n-Y1 and the compd. of formula II [Y2 is H and Y1 is -X-Z1 (Z1 is H, a group Z to be dissociated under the formation of bond between both reactants together with Y2), etc.; A0 is H, etc.; A10 to A30 are H, acyl, protecting group, etc.] into reaction in the presence of a base, such as pyridine.
