Abstract:
To predict a tank temperature at a fireproof test in a design concept stage of a fuel tank.SOLUTION: At the steps 100-118, a design supporting device calculates Reynolds number Re at each portion of a fuel tank 114 based on design concept information including the shape of the fuel tank 114 and a gap size between the fuel tank 114 and a vehicle floor 110, and on flow velocity around the fuel tank 114 using numerical fluid dynamics. At steps 120-142, the design supporting device calculates a temperature T(finish) at each portion of the fuel tank at the end of the fireproof test, based on calorie Qflowing into the fuel tank 114 from a flame at the fireproof test calculated by using the Reynolds number Re and a thermal conductivity model according to each portion of the fuel tank 114, and on a physical property value including a material density ρof the fuel tank 114, and on the information about a plate thickness d of the fuel tank 114.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 18
