To protect a person from an earthquake by making an ordinary desk made of iron.
A plate 1 and legs 3 of a desk are made of iron to increase its strength, where the plate 1 is made thicker than the ordinary one, to protect a person during an earthquake. Each leg 3 has a bottom 4 which is wider than the leg 3 to prevent the desk from easily moved. It may be placed in a bed room to protect a person during night or early morning when he is lying, or may be placed over a lying person. The plate 1 is of high-strength iron. The desk is provided with a hook inside, on which a food-containing bag is to be suspended. Ordinary wooden or steel desk is not sufficiently resistant to an instantaneous, strong earthquake, and this demerit is overcome by making it by iron.
