To simplify the connecting structure of the rear part of a side panel in a desk with the side panel disposed above the side of a top plate.
A rear connecting fitting 23 is formed like a crank in a plan view, and a locking claw 20 is formed at the rear end thereof. A locking claw 23d is fitted in a locking hole 20 of a vertical frame 15 in a back panel 8. The rear connecting fitting 23 can be interchanged between the left face and the right face of a side panel 12. The locking claw 23 is formed like a lateral T-shape in a side view, so that even if it is inverted, it can be fixed to the side panel 13. Thus, one type of rear connecting fitting 23 can cope with any of the case (a) of raising the side panel at the left end part of the top plate, the case (b) of raising it at the right end part of the top plate, and the case (c) of raising it in the state of striding over the right and left top plates.
