Abstract:

To provide a desktop printer printing an image of high quality at high speed, and which is sized to be easily stored on a desk.

The desktop printer unit has a body including: a media input assembly which supports a printing medium 34; a media output assembly which collects the printed medium; and a print engine (70) having a printhead for printing the image on the surface of the medium, and attached to the body. The printhead is a pagewidth printhead which is detachable from the print engine.
