To provide a fuel cell system equipped with a desulfurization apparatus that can perform a desulfurization treatment stably for a long period of time.
The upstream side desulfurizer 310, which is filled with an upstream side desulfurizing agent of at least either of a zeolite desulfurizing agent and a metal oxide, is connected in series with the desulfurizer 320 filled with a stabilized desulfurizing agent, herein the zeolite desulfurizing agent being one having at least any one selected from silver, nickel, copper, iron, manganese, cobalt, cerium and lanthanum supported on an inorganic material, the metal oxide being at least any one selected from nickel, copper, iron, manganese, cobalt, cerium and lanthanum, and the stabilized desulfurizing agent containing at least any one selected from iron, nickel, copper, cobalt and manganese. After the stabilized desulfurizing agent is subjected to reduction treatment at a temperature near to ordinary temperature, the raw material gas is subjected to ordinary temperature desulfurization treatment in the upstream side desulfurizer 310, subjected to desulfurization treatment at 50-400C in the desulfurizer and subjected to reformation treatment in the reformer 410.
