Title:
DESUPERHEATER FOR STEAM TURBINE GENERATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010249503
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a steam generating and turbine system using a heat exchanger as a desuperheater.

The system for generating steam for a turbine (150) of an electric generator includes a superheater (130) receiving steam from a boiler (120) and generating superheated steam. All or a portion of the superheated steam from the superheater (130) is then passed through the heat exchanger (170) to transfer some of the heat energy in the superheated steam to a flow of water. This reduces a temperature of the superheated steam to a temperature suitable for the turbine (150). The water heated in the heat exchanger (170) can be condensed water that has already passed through the turbine (150), and the water heated in the heat exchanger (170) can be sent to the boiler (120), where it is re-cycled back into steam.
