To provide a detachable handle for a cooking container such as a pan that, suspends a holding member with a seat at the tip from the underside of a handle body with a latch fitting at the tip in an openable and closable relation by means of a front-back pair of link elements, and dispenses with a spring member for holding.
This handle comprises a handle body 1 having at the tip a fitting 4 for latching engagement with an opening rim 20 of a pan, and a holding member 2 suspended from the underside of the handle body 1 in an openable and closable relation by means of a front link element 9 at the tip and a back link element 12 at the back. A seat 5 is die-cast from aluminum or the like. The length of the front link element 9 is limited to such a length as causes the handle body 1 and the holding member 2 to overlap via their respective tip bottom and top faces. The respective bottom and top faces of the handle body 1 and the holding member 2 have cavities 15 and 16 for accommodating the back link element 12 longer than the front link element 9 alternately together with journaling portions 13 and 14. When the handle body 1 and the holding member 2 are closed, the latch fitting 4 and the seat 5 hold the opening rim 20 in between.
