Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable highly-precise detection of the presence or absence of liquefied fuel LPG by a construction wherein a prism to which LPG or the mist thereof in a piping provided ahead of a nozzle part of an LPG vaporizer is made to stick is fitted to the piping so that it can generate an output signal. CONSTITUTION:When a liquefied fuel LPG in an LPG container diminishes, the quantity of the mist of LPG sticking to an inner-piping prism 5, and when the LPG decreases below a prescribed quantity, attenuation of a polarized component of a light entering the prism 5 from a collimate lens 9 and reflected on a sensor surface 10 becomes small. As a result, the light reflected from the prism 5 is reflected on a mirror surface 11 and split into vertical and parallel polarized components by a polarized beam splitter 12, and in this state, the two components are inputted to CPU through condenser lenses 13 and 17 and light-sensing elements 15 and 19. The ratio between the polarized components due to the mist are computed in the CPU and a digital output is generated therefrom. When this digital output is below a reference value, it is displayed in LED of a display unit 20 that the liquefied fuel LPG is left only below the prescribed quantity.
