Abstract:
To provide a detecting method for casting height of an ingot capable of automatically detecting the casting height of the ingot and decreasing a scatter of the casting height.
A pair of electrodes 3a and 3b comprising the positive pole and negative pole are arranged on a designated position below than an upper end of a mold 1 or pushing frame 2, and the position of the casting height is detected by means a variation of voltage or electric current when molten steel 4 keeps in contact with both electrodes at a last stage of casting.
