Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect molding force and stabilize quality by detecting the pressing force of a moving side roll and its reaction.

CONSTITUTION: First, the thickness of liners 15 are so determined that a suitable clearance is made between a movint side roll 17 and a stationary side roll 16. Next, the liners 15 are inserted between pressure detectors 14 and moving bearing housings 12. When cylinders 18 are operated after this, the screw-down force Fc and the reaction Fl detected by the pressure detectors 14 are equal to the screw-down force Fc and become 0=Fc-Fl. Next, when a molding is inserted between both rolls 17, 16 and the screw-down force of the cylinders 18 is applied, the screw- down force Fc is divided to the pressure molding force Fp and the reaction Fl detected by the pressure detectors 14, becoming Fp=Fc-Fl. Hence, the screw- down force Fc of the cylinder 18 is detected with the oil pressure detectors and this as well as the reaction Fl detected by the pressure detectors 14 are inputted to an arithmetic circuit, whereby the pressure molding force Fp may be detected.
