Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accurately locating a metallic piece getting mixed in a fibrous mat, and a device therefor. SOLUTION: This method paces a rod-shaped, metallic piece detecting probe 13 of magnetic induction type on the lower side of a fibrous mat 11, produced by a sheet-making machine, while the mat 11 is being moved by a conveyor 12, in such a way to cover the entire width of the mat 11. The detecting region of the probe 13 is divided into two or more channels in the width direction of the mat 11, to allow each of the channel to independently detect a metallic piece. At the same time, a coating spraying device 17 is provided for each channel. When one channel of the probe 13 detects a metallic piece getting mixed in the mat 11, the coating spraying device for that channel is started to work in a given timing, and sprays the coating to mark the position of the metallic piece or nearby position.
