Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a detergent compsn. which is mild to the hair and skin, excellent in detergency and foaming power, and good in feel during use.
CONSTITUTION: The detergent compsn. contains a mixture comprising an amidosulfobetaine compd. of formula I and a polyoxyethylene fatty acid amide compd. of formula II. In the formulas, R1 and R4 are each a 7-21C alkyl, etc.; R2 and R3 are each Me, Et, or OH; X1 and Y are each H, OH, or SO3M; X2 is H, SO3M, COCH(OH)CH(SO3M)COON, etc.; n is 2-10; M is Na, ammonium, etc.; m is 2-20; provided that if Y is H or OH, then X1 is SO3M, and if Y is SO3M, then X1 is H or OH.
