Title:
DETERGENT FOR REMOVAL OF SOLDERING FLUX
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06192694
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a detergent capable of simultaneously removing ions and a resin contained in the residue of soldering flux by using at least a given amt. of a glycol ether compd. represented by a specific formula.

CONSTITUTION: A glycol ether compd. of formula I (wherein k, l and m are each 1 to 10) or II (wherein k is 1 to 2; l is 2 to 4; and m is 1 to 3), such as diethylene glycol monobutyl ether [C4H9-(O-C2H4)2-OH], is mixed with water in such an amt. that the glycol ether compd. accounts for at least 50wt.% of the resulting detergent with high safety. Subsequently, a printed board subjected to soldering treatment wherein use is made of a rosin soldering flux is immersed in the detergent for a prescribed period of time, irradiated with ultrasonic waves, etc., and then taken up to confirm effective simultaneous removal of ions and a resin contained in the residue of the soldering flux without any adverse effects on electronic components on the board.
