To provide a developer cartridge and a method for recycling the same with which a sealing property when a filling port after re-filling developer is closed is assured and whether or not the developer is refilled is surely discriminated.
The developer cartridge 31 has a cylindrical cylinder part 112 projected outside from a rim of the circular filling port 76. A cap 77 which closes the filling port 76 is received by the cylinder part 112 at a state that it comes in contact with an inner periphery 113 of an outside edge of the cylinder part 112. When re-filling toner to a toner storage chamber 85, the cap 77 is removed together with the outer edge of the cylinder part 112. After re-filling the toner from the filling port 76 to the toner storage chamber 85, an insertion part 119 of a re-filling port cap 118 is inserted into a base edge part 111 of the cylinder part 112 and the filling port 76 is closed by the re-filling port cap 118.
