PURPOSE: To obtain an ultrahigh-contrast image small in image enlargement by processing the exposed specified photosensitive material with a specified developing solution.

CONSTITUTION: A silver halide emulsion layers and/or another hydrophilic colloidal layer contains a hydrazine derivative represented by formula I and a compound represented by formula II and the like, and an amino compound acting as a nucleation promoter contained in advance. This photosensitive material is exposed and processed with the developing solution containing a compound represented by formula III but not a dihvdroxybenzene derivative developing agent and an assistant developing agent exhibiting superadditivity and a quaternary onium salt compound, and having a pH of 9.5-11.5. In formula I, R1 is an aliphatic or aromatic group; R2 is H, alkyl, or the like; G1 is -CO-, -SO2-, or the like; and each of A1 and A2 is H or one of both alkylsulfonyl or the like. In formula II, each of R1-R3 is alkyl, aryl, or the like; m is an integer of 1-4; L is an m-valent organic group; and X is an anion. In formula III, each of R1 and R2 is hydroxy, amino, or the like; and each of P and Q is hydroxy, carboxy, or the like.
