PURPOSE: To effect the adjusting and fixing works with ease and enable the high accurate adjustment by a method wherein the rear plate facing to a recording head is adjusted by means of a lever rotatable with an adjusting screw in a picture scanning recording device.

CONSTITUTION: When adjusting the parallelism between the recording head 4 and a cushion 17 of the rear plate 13 in contact with each other, an inclination adjusting screw 36 fitted into a hole at the side plate of the rear plate 13 is rotated so as to turn a lever 35 around a pin 34. By so doing, the rear plate 13 fixed to a stopper 30 is rotated around a pin 29. After the completion of this adjustment, a side plate 32 and the rear plate 13 are fixed with each other by an inclination fixing screw. Further, another side plate 38 is disposed substantially in parallel with the side plate 32. A striking adjustment screw 41 is rotated to move the rear plate 13 carried on a lever 40 upward or downward for striking adjustment or for adjusting a margin caused by the upward shift of the rear plate 13 with the recording head 4. Then, the lever 40 and the rear plate 13 are fixed by means of a fixing screw 42.
