PURPOSE: To enable the axial movement of a rolling roll and to simplify the roll recombination work by forming a recessed slant face on the side face vertical to the roll shaft of a chock and arranging a cotter slidably into this recessed slant face.
CONSTITUTION: After supporting a chock 2 on a frame 16 by suspending it, the nut 11 on stud bolts 10, 10 is respectively loosened and clamps 9, 9 are made in a release state. An adjusting bolt 7 is then turned on a supporting block 8 and a cotter 6 is moved vertically along a recessed slant face 5. The gap corresponding to the moving amt. of the cotter 6 is caused between the clock 2 and clamp 9 and when the nut 11 is fixed by its fastening, the state of the contact face of the cotter 6 press-fitting the recessed slant face 5 is attained. The chock 2 is thus moved in the rolling roll 3 axial direction (arrow marked direction) in the state of its being supported on the suspending frame 16. The other part of the shaft of the rolling roll 3 is capable of the axial movement as well, correspondingly. The roll recombination work can thus be simplified and the working time shortened.
