Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely attach and detach a chock even if a work roll mounted on a receiving stand is slightly displaced from a specific position to the axial direction caused on the crane operation in a device which automatically attaches and detaches the chock from the work roll taken out from the rolling mill.
CONSTITUTION: Chock receiving stands are arranged at both sides of a roll receiving stand, supported on a running carriage which advances or retires by a definite amount with a hydraulic cylinder, and a pair of crank bars 33 which turn by a definite angle around the shaft center of work roll are supported with geared motors. After the running carriage advances by the definite amount, the crank bar 33 further advances with the hydraulic cylinder 42, the crank bar 33 presses an engaging chip, removes it from the engaging groove, further pressing is stopped, when the pressing load is increased, feeding oil into the hydraulic cylinder 42 is stopped.
