PURPOSE: To contrive the shortening of stopper attaching time by providing a means for pressing the underside of a flange coated with hot melt and a means for cooling the part being pressed when the pressing means is being operated.
CONSTITUTION: After preheating a stopper 21, a push rod 54 is moved to an outward position and a suction member 51 is moved into a takeout opening 36 to hold the stopper 21 thereon by suction. The stopper 21 is transferred from a stopper supply station S1 to a coating station S2 by the rotation of a rotary head 52. When the stopper reaches the coating station, a coating gun 91 rotates to apply hot melt to the entire periphery of the flange 22 of the stopper 21. After coating, the push rod 54 moves inwardly and the rotary head 52 rotates to transfer the stopper 21 to a stopper attaching station S3. After transfer, a cooling pipe 125 is moved in the operating position and the push rod 54 is moved to the outward position to press the flange of the stopper 21 against a pour-out opening. During this pressing period, the molten hot melt is cooled and hardened. Therefor the pressing time can be shortened.
