CONSTITUTION: When an identification number peculiar for the patient is inputted from an input means 5, based on the date in a patient file to show when the patent came to the hospital last time, a confirmation judging means 6 judges whether the confirmation of the health insurance certificate is required or not. At such a time, when the confirmation is judged necessary and a health insurance certificate reading means 7 reads described matters required for confirming the identity of the patient, a comparing means 2 compares the read data with the data of described matters corresponding to the data stored in a described matter storing means 8. When the read data are different from the stored data, the data in the described matter storing means 8 are updated. Thus, it is discriminated only by inputting the patient number whether the health insurance certificate confirmation is required or not, and the health insurance certificate confirmation of the patient is simplified.
