PURPOSE: To enable the sure and stable packing of an articles which difficultly deforms the packed article obtd. by bundling after compressing, even if roughly handling is executed, and difficultly develops fall-out of the packed article because the bundle is difficult to loose, by pushing up a compressing plate with an elevating means and executing the compression of the packing article with the elevating means and a receiving member.

CONSTITUTION: When the compressing plate 4 reaches the lower limit position and the prescribed quantity of the packing articles 5 are piled up, on the compressing plate, the flexible receiving member 41 is covered on the packing articles 5, and at the time of fixing both ends to clamps 42 arranged to a base board 1, the receiving member 41 receives the packing articles 5 so as to surround from three ways of the upper part and both sides. Then, at the time of elevating the compressing plate 4 with the elevating member A, the packing articles 5 are intensely pushed to the receiving member 41 and compressed and this height is reduced, and also since the force is loaded to the packing articles from both sides by approaching the mutually faced both end parts of the flexible receiving member 41, the packed articles 5 are compressed in the width direction, too and the vol. is reduced to a prescribed vol. in the condition of non-contacting with guides 33.
