Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable firm connection without removing a synthetic resin pipe by tightening a cover nut having an internal thread formed thereon that engages with the external thread of a connector, thus sandwiching the flange portion of the synthetic resin pipe between the cover nut and the end face of the connector.
CONSTITUTION: To connect a synthetic resin pipe 1 to a connector 2, a cover nut 3 is fitted around a sleeve 4 before a flange portion 1a is formed in the synthetic resin pipe 1. The flange portion 4b of the sleeve 4 is made to abut to the flange portion 1a of the synthetic resin pipe 1, and the synthetic resin pipe 1 is inserted along the socket guide portion 2c of the connector 2, and the end portion of the synthetic resin pipe 1 is enclosed in a storage recessed portion 2b via a sealing member 5. Under these conditions, the cover nut 3 is engaged with the connector 2 and tightened in order to press the sleeve 4 against the connector 2 and reduce the diameter of a diameter-reduced portion 4a using the inner hole 3b of the cover nut 3. Thereby the flange portion 1a of the synthetic resin pipe 1 is firmly held in place via the sealing member 5.
