Abstract:

PURPOSE: To restrain the variation of molten metal level by executing the feedforward of variation in the drawing resistance of a cast slab to the operating quantity of a stopper.

CONSTITUTION: In a control device for level in a mold, a mold level meter 5 for continuously detecting the level of molten metal 2 in the mold 4, a drawing resistance calculating part 13 for detecting the drawing resistance of the cast slab, an operating quantity calculating means for calculating the operating quantity to the pouring quantity of molten metal poured into the mold from the drawing resistance value of the cast slab detected by these detecting means and the stopper 7 for operating the pouring quantity according to the calculated operating quantity are provided. Then the feedforward of the variation in the drawing resistance of the cast slab is executed to the stopper. By this method, the variation of the molten metal level can be restrained.
