Title:
DEVICE FOR DECIDING RECORDING MODE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04149863
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an inhibited combination between a video recording mode and a digital recording mode and to secure interchangeability by deciding the recording mode of a video signal and deciding the mode of a digital signal to be additionally recorded in a medium. CONSTITUTION:In the case of post-recording a digital sound signal in a recorded tape, a normal mode or a high-eight mode is discriminated based upon a detection hole perforated on a tape cassette by a tape discriminating mechanism 31. In the case of a tape corresponding to the high-eight mode, a video recording mode discriminating circuit 46 discriminates whether a video signal is in a normal mode or a high-eight mode. When the video signal is the high-eight mode, switches SW3, SW4, SW22 in a sound signal recording system 20 are connected to the HIGH sides and a sound signal is recorded in the high-eight mode. When the video signal is the normal mode, the switches SW3, SW4, SW22 are connected to the NORMAL sides and the sound signal is recorded in the normal mode.
