To automate work for detaching a core of a base paper roll set to a base paper stand and placing the detached base paper roll in a predetermined position of a truck.

The base paper stand is constituted by mounting the base parts of a lateral pair of supporting arms to a horizontally journaled turning shaft movably in an axial direction, and opposedly providing right and left chucks for fittingly holding both ends of the core of the base paper roll to the lateral pair of supporting arms. In this case, right and left brackets fixed to the lateral pair of supporting arms are formed with inclined faces equal to the inclination angle of the outer surfaces of the chucks, and a turning arm with its tip part moving along the outer surface of the chuck is rotatably fitted to the inclined face. The proximal end of the turning arm is connected to a piston of an air cylinder.
