Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warm body detecting device by which a pedestrian is correctly detected without being affected by a disturbance cause.
SOLUTION: A warm body image and a visible image in the travelling direction of a vehicle are picked-up by an infrared-ray camera 1 and a visible camera 3 and a distance and a direction to another vehicle in the travelling direction of the vehicle are detected by a vehicle detecting part 17. Then, an image processing unit 5 extracts the presence area of another vehicle based on the distance and direction to another vehicle. Then, the presence areas of the visible image and another vehicle are removed from the warm body image and the presence of the pedestrian is detected based on the warm body image obtained as the removal processing result.
