Abstract:
PURPOSE: To minimize the amount of power consumption, so as to prolong the useful operation life time of a battery by providing means which prohibit charging of a power storage means and hold a charging means in a static low-power state.
CONSTITUTION: When an input DC voltage from a battery or the like is supplied to an input terminal 50, a multivibrator 58 is reset through the intermediary of a capacitor 52. In this reset mode, a logically high signal is supplied from a gate 62 to NOR gates 82 and 84, so that a logically low signal be supplied to transistors 86, 88, 92 and 99. As a result, these transistors are put in a static and low-power state. In the reset mode, moreover, the logically high signal is supplied to a NOR gate 70 of a multivibrator 66 to prohibit the operation thereof. Supplied with the logically high signal from the input terminal 50 in the reset mode, a gate 114 supplies the logically low signal to the base of a transistor 126. When a switch 60 is opened accordingly, the overall circuit is brought to a standby low-power state.
