PURPOSE: To enable even an unskilled person to efficiently and well carry out an operation by inclinatorily erecting book depositing and pressing mechanisms which rotatably crimp many books at the plural points facing respective working stations at the time of indexed rotation on a turntable and inclinatorily erecting a rectangular ruler which is movable forward and backward.

CONSTITUTION: An air cylinder 16 of the pressing mechanism 3 positioned in a book stacking station 1 is actuated to advance the rectangular ruler 22 and after the many books 30 are stacked in the regulated quantity on a turn table 14 of the mechanism 3 in conformity with the ruler, an air cylinder 11 is actuated to press these books by a book pressing part 12 and to integrally crimp the book between this part and the turn table 14. Further, the pressing mechanism 3 carrying the books is moved to the next coloring station II by the indexed rotation of the turn table 2 and while the books are turned by manually operating a handle 28, the dyeing operation is carried out. The books are put into the drying stations of the 3rd to 6th working stations III to VI by the indexed rotation of the table 2 upon ending of this operation.
