Title:
DEVICE FOR ELONGATING COHESION LENGTH OF SLIVER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02112421
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the cohesion length of a sliver without damaging its post-processing property by loading at least one of a pair of calendar rollers to which the sliver is penetrably guided, with a spring and installing specific protruvances at the outer circumferential part of the calendar roller.

CONSTITUTION: This device for elongating the cohesion length of a sliver is provided by delivering the sliver 1 to a compressing position (p) between calendar rollers 4, 5 for acting the compression force caused by a compressing spring 11. Protruvances 16 are formed equally at the circumferential part of the calendar rolls 4, 5 so as to interengage each other in gear-like manner, and the depth of recessed parts are made to have a slight magnitude (approximately 0.5 mm) for preventing the piling of a soil in the recessed parts.
