PURPOSE: To obtain an automatic yarn feeder, provided with a weft yarn cheese rotating means, suction pipe, weft yarn holding and moving means and weft yarn inserting means and capable of automatically introducing the yarn end of the weft yarn cheese into a weft yarn length measuring and storing device.

CONSTITUTION: A shuttleless loom for unwinding a weft yarn from a weft yarn cheese 3, measuring the length of the yarn and storing the yarn with a wrapping type weft yarn length measuring and storing device 8 and picking the yarn into a warp yarn shed with a picking nozzle 14 is provided with a weft yarn cheese rotating means 2 for rotating the weft yarn cheese 3 in the unwinding direction, a suction pipe 6 for taking out the weft yarn tip from the surface of the weft yarn cheese 3, weft yarn holding and moving means 15 and 17 for receiving the tip of the weft yarn from the suction pipe 6 and moving the tip to an introduction part (10a) of the weft yarn length measuring and storing device 8 and a weft yarn inserting means (8c) for feeding the tip of the weft yarn from the introduction part (10a) into the length measuring and storing part of the weft yarn length measuring and storing device 8 with an air stream.
