PURPOSE: To feed a yarn end to an automatic winder by separating the yarn end of a yarn feeding package from a yarn layer while drawing out same nearly upward, bringing the yarn end to the side portion of a shaft body to be engaged with the shaft body, pulling the yarn so as to be delivered from the yarn feeding package, and winding up the yarn on the peripheral face of the shaft body.

CONSTITUTION: A suction mouth 22 separates a yarn end Y from a yarn layer in accordance with the rotation of a tray T and pulls out the yarn end obliquely upward to engage same with a nip roller 24 and the yarn-end guide plate 36 of a cutter means 25. As the yarn end Y is drawn out, the lever member 33 of a yarn end guide means 23 is rotated counterclockwise and crosses the yarn pass to engage the yarn end Y with the side portion 34 of a projecting peg 21. At this time, the nip roller 24 pulls the yarn end obliquely upward so as to unwind a yarn feeding package P. That is, the yarn end Y is revolved on a conical track while being delivered from the yarn feeding package P, and spirally wound around the peripheral face of the projecting peg 21.
